Hi, I’m Ashley Pickens.
I am the owner of Designed for Excellence. I have both a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. I have a passion for improving processes and ensuring success, and I want to bring that passion to you and your team!
I have worked in a variety of industries including outdoors, architectural lighting and more. I began my career designing products and moved into Lean Manufacturing earning my six sigma green belt. I have worked on some pretty cool projects and I am excited to support you.
Wanna know more about me that has literally nothing to do with work? I was born on the east coast, just south of Boston, but call Colorado my home. I am enthusiastic about most things outdoors including fly fishing, trail running, hunting and mountain biking.

Hourly
You can hire us for a standard hourly rate and we will agree on the project scope and maximum hours per week. This is great for open ended projects where it is difficult to assign a timeline or the project is evolving as we discover more.
PROJECT
Have a clear project scope and no one to work on it? We can define a clear set of parameters for the project and stick within your budget. This works well where the goal is clearly outlined and we can hit the ground running.
Retainer
Need help on an ongoing basis? We can set up an agreement to meet your needs, and any additional hours come at the standard hourly rate. This works well for teams who cannot support a full-time hire but need ongoing advising.
